Saigon, the Mekong and Phu Quoc. Where the flow is.
Vietnam's money city first: cafés full of people checking the VN-Index on their phones, the gold shops, the night traffic from the back of a Vespa. Then the river that feeds the country, and four slow nights on a beach with a desk facing the sea.

What does a day on this trip look like?
Guided sights in the morning, a long café afternoon among locals, then your desk for the sessions you trade. Vietnam is UTC+7, so the markets that matter open after lunch.
Saigon before the heat
Joggers in the parks, phở stalls already busy.
Out with your guide
City sights, the Mekong or the islands. Back by early afternoon.
Café hours
Iced coffee among locals reading the stock board on their phones.
London
At your desk, air-con on.
New York
Or the Vespa night tour, your call.
Times move an hour earlier from late March, when London and New York change their clocks. Live converter in our forex hours in Vietnam guide.
Where do you go each day?
Each day has one guided plan, then free hours with a café we like and a look at how people here live and spend now. Green is your free time, gold is local life, purple is your desk.
Day1Arrive Saigon, ride it by night
Ho Chi Minh City · overnight Thao Dien
Private pickup at Tan Son Nhat and about 30 minutes to Thao Dien, the leafy riverside district where expats and young Saigon families live. At 18:00 your Vespa riders pick you up for a food tour through districts most visitors never see.
A garden café in Thao Dien: rattan chairs, a cà phê sữa đá (iced milk coffee) and Wi-Fi that works.
From the back of the Vespa: eight million motorbikes, street kitchens on every corner and a city that eats out almost every night.
The Vespa tour runs to about 22:00, so tonight New York is off. Skip the tour and the desk is yours.
Day2The money city
Ho Chi Minh City · overnight Thao Dien
A short morning in District 1 with your guide: Ben Thanh Market, the Reunification Palace and the old post office. Back by lunch.
The café apartment block at 42 Nguyen Hue: nine floors of small cafés with balconies over the walking street. Pick a floor, order, watch the city below.
Vietnam's stock market trades through the morning and early afternoon, and you will see people checking the VN-Index in every café. Walk past the gold shops on the way back: Saigon still saves in gold, and the counters tell you how the city feels about the dong.
London from 15:00, New York from 20:30 at a desk we have checked for fibre and backup. Skip either one; nothing else on the day depends on it.
Day3A day on the Mekong Delta
Saigon → Ben Tre → Saigon · overnight Thao Dien
Leave at 7:00 for the delta, about two hours by private car. Sampan through the narrow canals, a coconut-candy workshop, fruit gardens and lunch on the river bank. Back in Saigon around 16:00.
Coconut coffee on the river bank, at the family place your guide stops at for lunch.
The river is still the main road here: rice, bricks, fruit and furniture all move by boat. Ask your boatman what changed when the bridges and highway came.
Back for the second half of London, then New York from 20:30.
Day4Fly to the island
Saigon → Phu Quoc · overnight Phu Quoc
One-hour flight to Phu Quoc, private car to a beachfront resort on the quieter west coast near Ong Lang. Afternoon to settle in.
The beach bar at your resort, a fresh coconut and your feet in the sand. This is the view you came for.
Phu Quoc is famous at home for fish sauce and black pepper. Fishing boats with lights go out at dusk for squid; count them on the horizon from your sunbed.
London from 15:00, New York from 20:30 at a desk we have checked for fibre and backup. Skip either one; nothing else on the day depends on it.
Day5Islands in the south
Phu Quoc · overnight Phu Quoc
Private boat from An Thoi to the small southern islands for snorkelling and a seafood lunch on board. Back on the beach by 14:30.
A hammock café on the sand before the desk. Phu Quoc does lazy very well.
An Thoi's harbour is a working port first: watch the catch come off the boats and go straight to the restaurants you will eat in tonight.
London from 15:00, New York from 20:30 at a desk we have checked for fibre and backup. Skip either one; nothing else on the day depends on it.
Day6Fish sauce, pepper and a night market
Phu Quoc · overnight Phu Quoc
A morning with your guide at a pepper farm and a fish-sauce house in the island's working villages, then a free afternoon.
A street café in Duong Dong town, chairs facing the road, where locals spend an hour on one iced coffee.
Duong Dong night market after London: grilled seafood, sea-urchin, and stall owners who can tell you which resort opened this year and who is building next.
London from 15:00, then the night market, then New York at 20:30 or a farewell dinner on the sand.
Day7One last swim, then home
Phu Quoc → departure
Breakfast and a swim, then a private car to Phu Quoc airport for a direct international flight or a connection through Saigon.
Early morning the fishermen are mending nets on the beach. Say hello; they are used to it.
Which hotels do you stay in?
4★ hotels and resorts as standard, 5★ resorts if you choose them. Every room is checked for a desk, fibre and a backup connection before you arrive, and you see the named hotels before you pay.

Boutique hotel in Thao Dien

Coming with a partner who won't trade? We plan their afternoons while you are at the desk.
Questions before you book.
Can I trade on this trip?
Yes, on five of the six evenings: London from 15:00 and New York from 20:30 (Vietnam winter time). The Vespa food tour on night one runs until about 22:00, so skip it if you need that New York session.
When is the best time to go?
December to April is dry in the south and the sea off Phu Quoc's west coast is calm. May to October brings short afternoon storms; still fine for trading, less reliable for boat days.
Can I fly home directly from Phu Quoc?
Often, yes. Phu Quoc has direct flights to several Asian cities. If yours does not, we add the short connection through Saigon.
Will I travel with strangers?
No. Every Signature Journey is private, from one traveller, on the dates you choose. It is you, the people you bring, your guide and your driver.
I want a real holiday with no trading. Does this still work?
Yes. Tell us and we drop the desk nights and fill the afternoons instead. You still sleep in rooms with fast, reliable internet for the moment you want to check something.
How do I book, and what if I need to cancel?
Send a brief and you get a written day-by-day plan with named hotels and a price per person within 48 hours. Once you approve it, a 30% deposit holds your dates and the rest is paid when you arrive. Cancellation is free up to 45 days before you travel.
