Session hours are market conventions, not exchange rules; brokers may quote slightly different times. Sydney runs on daylight time from early October to early April, the opposite of Europe. Many charts label the Asian session "Tokyo", but Singapore itself is one of the world's biggest FX trading centres, so Asian-hours liquidity is better than the label suggests.
What is the best time to trade forex from Singapore?
For most traders, the London and New York overlap: 21:00 to 01:00 in winter and 20:00 to midnight in summer, when liquidity in the majors and gold is usually at its highest. It's also the slot that costs you sleep.
- London only (16:00–21:00): a full session that finishes by dinner. Good for EUR and GBP pairs, and for anyone with a day job.
- The overlap (21:00–01:00): the most movement and the US data releases, and a late night four or five times a week.
- Tokyo (08:00–17:00): runs through office hours. JPY, AUD and SGD pairs move most; the majors are usually calmer.

US data such as NFP and CPI comes out at 21:30 Singapore time in winter and 20:30 in summer. The FOMC statement lands at 03:00 in winter and 02:00 in summer.

When do the session times change in 2026–27?
Four dates move your evening: the UK changes on 25 October 2026 and 28 March 2027, the US on 1 November 2026 and 14 March 2027. In the gaps between them, London and New York are out of step for a week or two.

What are SGX trading hours?
SGX securities trade on weekdays in two sessions, roughly 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00 Singapore time, with a pre-open auction before the morning session and a short closing auction after 17:00. The market is closed on public holidays.
